Online VBS

“We’ve never seen anything like this before!”

Get ready for a 5-Day interactive online VBS where kids and families compete in spiritual learning challenges against other families in their church. Every activity earns points and online badges. Kids can unlock hidden challenges and families will submit photos and videos of their activities to their VBS leader. The VBS leader can also add points for challenges and extra competitions from the administrative dashboard. Each family has their own profile where they can choose a fun name and upload a photo to represent their family. We also provide suggestions for how the VBS leader can have an evening online sessions that are interactive, challenging and that will keep the momentum of VBS going all the way to the end where the final VBS champion family will be named. Once your church purchases this package, you’ll be able to host your own interactive, online VBS–an experience that will be both impacting and memorable for the families in your church and community.

We have specifically built this VBS to work for both big and small churches.

How It Works

STEP 1 – Give a Donation. Instead of selling this curriculum, we are offering it for a donation amount of your choosing. Our goal is to help churches that are struggling in the current economic times.

STEP 2 – Fill out the Application. Once you’ve given a donation, go HERE to fill out an application for your church. This will give us all the information we need to get you set-up.

STEP 3 –Set Up. Once we receive the donation from your church, we’ll set your church up as its own “group.” This way whenever you launch your VBS, you’re families will be competing only against families from your own church. Once you’re set-up you can launch your VBS anytime–Any date will work. You don’t even need to let us know when it’s happening. Once you’re set-up, you’re good-to-go! (This set-up may take a couple of days.)

STEP 4 – Everything You Need. We’ll contact you once you’re set-up. You’ll get access information and instruction about how to use your leader dashboard. From the dashboard you will be able to send emails to the families of your church which will allow them to register with your VBS group. We will also send you links to valuable promotional information, ideas and suggestions.

STEP 5 – Final Preparations. Set your date, promote your VBS, recruit prayer teams to begin praying, and plan what you want to do in the evening “online” sessions. We’ll give you outlines and plenty of suggestions for this. Decide if you want to add any extra features to your VBS. We’ll provide plenty of ideas for this as well–ways you can customize your VBS even more. Overall, this will probably be the simplest VBS that you will ever lead because so much of is already automated.

Each day includes the following:

  • Bible Lesson Video – Each day begins with a Bible learning video featuring Kolby King using creative tools to teach God’s Word.
  • Family Challenge – i.e., Day 1 is Tongue Twisters, Day 3 is Fun Hair Night, etc. – These are spiritual learning family activities. Some of them challenge families to send a photo or video to their VBS leader to earn extra points. Earn a Family badge for each day.
  • Bible Story – Bible stories include Zacchaeus, stories from Luke 15 including the Lost Coin and the Lost Sheep, Jesus healing the blind men, Jesus calming the storm and Jesus overcoming temptation. Earn a Bible Story badge for each day.
  • Key Verse – There is a key verse each day: Romans 5:8, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Psalm 56:3 and Psalm 119:11. Earn the Psalm 119:11 badge for each day.
  • Family Activity—Family activities are intended to engage the whole family but could also be done by a child whose parents are unchurched and don’t want to participate. Again, families can send photos or videos to their VBS Leader to earn more points. Earn an Activity badge for each day.
  • Bible Reading Challenge – The daily Bible readings connect with either the Bible Story for each day or the Key Verse. Earn a 66 Club badge for each day.
  • Fun with “Jay” – Ventriloquism Videos. These fun videos will include stories such a the Prodigal Son, David & Goliath and other key spiritual lessons that coordinate with other features for the day. Earn the Laughter badge for each day.
  • Trick of the Day – Each day the kids can learn a new trick and a fun way that they can share the Gospel. These “tricks” include the Torn & Restored Heart, paper tear tricks and a card trick that will happen in their living room while they follow instructions the video’s instruction. In other words, they aren’t just watching tricks, these tricks are happening in their own hands while they watch. And throughout they are being equipped to know the spiritual truth behind them and how they can use them to share God’s love with others.
  • Salvation Story of the Day – Each day will feature a short salvation testimony. Earn a Skills badge for each day.
  • “God’s Plan for Me” Daily Salvation Videos – We want kids to understand how God made a way to save them, why we all need to be saved, and how someone can make the decision to receive Christ. Each of these 5 videos shares the plan of salvation in fun and creative ways. Watching these videos earns a 316 badge for each day.
  • The Riddle and Joke of the Day – An unlock key for each of these is hidden throughout the daily challenges. Kids and families will be looking for them as they proceed through the day. Once they discover an unlock key, it will give them a link to discover either the riddle and joke of the day. These challenges reinforce spiritual truth, give them additional points and earn them more badges. Earn Unlock badge for each day.
  • Draw with Me – Each day gives a drawing challenge (i.e, What’s your favorite Bible story?). Someone in the family will draw the picture and send it to their VBS leader. During these sessions the students will also learn day-by-day how to draw the plan of salvation. Earn an Art badge for each day.
  • Video Game Challenge – We are working on implementing some basic and fun video games that students can play while learning or reinforcing spiritual truth. Their points would be reported to the VBS leader who would announce the daily winners and add points to their families.
  • Interactive Evening Ideas – We provide suggestions for how the VBS leader can have an online session that is interactive, challenging and that will keep the momentum of VBS going all the way until the final session or until Sunday morning where the final VBS champion family will be named. During this time, you can announce winners, giveaway prizes, show photos and videos that families have submitted, review the lesson of the day and give challenges for the next day.

Combine Online VBS with Your Regular Bible School

A couple of years ago we led a VBS and talked about ways to engage the family during the day before the kids came that evening. Or, for a morning VBS, how can you keep engaging and reinforcing kids and involving parents once they go home. That’s where this idea was originally born. Our goal in the future is to launch a full VBS curriculum alongside features such as the ones above for a full-blown VBS experience that will engage kids with God’s Word both at church and at home, will share the Gospel with parents who are lost, and challenge church parents to take spiritual leadership in their families.
