The battlefield is dark and cold, filled with shadowy enemies that seem impossible to defeat. The Rootlash fight bravely but are overwhelmed, and even Ezri’s own people hesitate to help those in need. Yet, Ezri reminds everyone of the Code—the sacred promise to act with kindness, courage, and righteousness toward all, regardless of race or banner.
In life, we face moments when doing what’s right is hard, and sometimes others reject us or even call our actions “treason.” But standing for truth and kindness, especially when it’s unpopular or dangerous, is what defines our character. Like Ezri, we are called to be courageous, to fight for what is good, and to unite even when the odds are against us.
The Bible calls us to love our neighbors, to act justly, and to be brave in the face of injustice (Micah 6:8). Ezri’s stand is a reminder that God’s people do not abandon those who suffer. Instead, they shine His light even when darkness threatens to overwhelm.
Key Verse
“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”
— Micah 6:8 (WEB)

Prayer
Dear God,
Thank You for teaching us to love kindness and do what is right. Help us to be brave when we see others in need, even if it’s scary or difficult. Remind us that Your light is stronger than any darkness, and that together, with Your help, we can stand strong and show Your love to the world.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
