Chapter 22 – Finding Strength When All Seems Lost

Ezri’s body was worn and exhausted, yet her heart bore a heavier burden—the loss of her fellow wand-bearers, now fallen by betrayal and battle. Alone and weary, she faces the daunting reality that she is the last defender of the kingdom’s hope. Even in deep sorrow, Ezri chooses to serve others, finding purpose in caring for the wounded. Though grief and loneliness press hard, she must stand firm for what remains.

This chapter reminds us that even when all seems lost, God’s work continues through those who remain faithful. We may feel alone or overwhelmed, but God calls us to persevere, trusting that He is sovereign over every loss and trial. Like Ezri, we find strength not in our own power, but in the Lord’s unchanging grace. Our hope rests not on earthly things, but on Jesus Christ, who conquered sin and death. In Him, no defeat is final.

Key Verse
“But those who wait on the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not be weary; they will walk and not faint.”
— Isaiah 40:31 (WEB)
