Ezri’s fight in the swamp wasn’t just against the vines that tried to trap her—it was a battle within herself. She wielded her wand with great power, yet she clung to her sword as if it defined who she was. The wand gave her strength and ability, but she wondered: was she really more than the power it gave her?
This struggle is familiar. Sometimes we place our identity in what we can do, what gifts we have, or how others see us. When those things are taken away or challenged, we feel lost and small, questioning our worth. But God’s Word reminds us that our true value isn’t in our abilities or possessions—it’s in who we are in Christ.
Ezri’s battle shows that even when we are powerful, we can feel weak inside. But God’s power is perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). When we feel like we’re barely holding on, God’s grace is what sustains us. He doesn’t love us because of what we have or what we can do—He loves us because we belong to Him.
No matter how strong or capable we seem, the real question is: Are we trusting in God’s power or our own? Like Ezri, we may have tools, talents, or spiritual gifts—but they are meant to point us to the One who gives us all strength.
Key Verse
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
— 2 Corinthians 12:9 (WEB)

Prayer
Dear God,
Thank You that Your grace is enough for me, even when I feel weak or unsure. Help me to trust not in my own strength or gifts, but in Your power working in and through me. Remind me that I am valuable and loved because I belong to You, not because of what I can do. Give me courage to face the hard battles, knowing You are with me every step of the way.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
