A great illusion for illustrating forgiveness and a new beginning.
This paper vanishes before your eyes. It’s amazing! Put the paper in water, stir, and it is gone.
Great for sermon illustrations, New Year’s themes, youth and children’s messages, camps and more.
Two Size Options
- Printable Pages – 5 sheets per pack: 8 1/2 x 11″
- Small Slips – 25 sheets per pack: 2 1/2″ x 4 1/4″
The 8 1/2 x 11″ sheets are comparable in thickness to computer paper and are compatible with copy machines, scanners, inkjet, laser printers.
This paper completely disperses in 15 seconds or less when exposed to water and agitation. The water is cloudy afterwards but this doesn’t ruin the illustration that something was there (sin, specific sins, etc.) but now is gone.
This paper is considered “green and clean,” and is biodegradable and water-soluble.
Ideas for youth
At camp or at New Year’s, give each of your students a piece of the dissolving paper and have them write an action, sin or habit that they want to get rid of. Then, one at a time, during a worship song or prayer time, have them bring their paper forward, drop it into a large, clear container of water, give a slight stir and watch it disappear. Great for lessons on Colossians 3 where the Bible talks about “putting off” certain actions and attitudes.
Ideas for children & families
Use the dissolving paper to give secret challenges, “Spy” notes and Scripture memory verses to your kids. Once they read it or memorize it, they can get rid of the evidence in an exciting way.
Sermon Illustration
For a sermon series: During a sermon series about forgiveness or sanctification, begin each week with a specific sin printed on a piece of paper–Lust, Lies, Pornography, Disobedience, etc. Explain that these no longer have control over the believer. Begin each message by emphasizing 1 John 1:9 and as you quote it each week, dip the paper in a large, clear container of water so that everyone can see them disappear.
For one message: Preach from Colossions 3–“But now, set them all aside—anger, rage, malice, slander, and foul language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another…” As you address each sin, take a page with the name printed or handwritten on it (i.e., “anger”, “rage”, etc.). Explain what it is and then put it into a large, clear container of water and let people watch each one dissolve as you move to the next one. End with a call to repentance, to set all our sins aside and to confess our sins to the Lord, focusing on 1 John 1:9.
